Ubisoft has confirmed today that Assassin's Creed Valhalla has gone gold, placing it aboard a Viking longboat on its way to release this November. Not literally, of course. That would be stupid.

Revealed back in April, it hasn't all been smooth-sailing for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, losing Ashraf Ismail as Creative Director in June, amid a wave of restructuring at Ubisoft. But now, at last, the game is finished and on course for next month's launch across current and next-gen platforms.

Set in Britain during the Dark Ages, Valhalla sees male or female Viking warrior Eivor leading their clan to find a new home, leaving Norway for pastures new. By default, both male and female versions of the protagonist will be canon, according to Ubisoft, automatically switching at certain junctures, unless you set the gender yourself.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on 10th November, with the PS5 version following on 12th November in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea, then 19th November in the rest of the world.
