Cyberpunk 2077's Main Story Will Be Shorter Than The Witcher 3

Written By

Cyberpunk 2077's main story campaign will be shorter than CD Projekt's previous game, The Witcher 3, according a senior developer.

Speaking on a stream following last week's Night City Wire event, Senior Quest Designer Patrick K Mills said that "we do know that the main story run in Cyberpunk 2077 is slightly shorter than The Witcher 3". Apparently, this is due to feedback the developer received for the fantasy open-world title, with CD Projekt receiving "a lot of complaints about Witcher 3's main story just being too long."

It wasn't just word of mouth though - apparently the stats behind the scenes show that a lot of players made it really far through The Witcher 3, but never made it to the end.

"We want you to see the whole story," Mills continued. "So we did shorten the main story, but we have lots to do."

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 19th November before coming to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 at a later date
