PUBG's Next Big Update Introduces Ranked Mode

Written By

PUBG Update 7.2 is coming to Xbox One on 26th May, and it's bringing the long-awaited Ranked Mode, among a few other changes.

Ranked Mode will have players playing under a different set of rules, intended to be more competitive, with the game tracking the action and doling out rewards. The new ruleset for Ranked means 64 players, no red zones, and better loot more easily available. While PUBG will be adding AI players to the game in the same update, no AI will feature in Ranked Mode

Update 7.2 also improves the Jerry Can item, allowing players to pour out the fuel from inside, or throw the item, spilling some fuel where it lands. Any spilled fuel can then get ignited with molotovs, explosive items or even gunfire, with the fuel eventually evaporating after a few minutes. Shotguns have received a buff, doing more damage to the head and limbs, and with less of a accuracy penalty when shooting while moving. Other weapons are also getting balance changes, including reduced recoil on some assault rifles and reduced damage on the M416. You can find the full patch notes on the PUBG website here.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia and PC.
